Dr. Linda Roberts is the Director of the Office of Educational Technology and special advisor to the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Education. Dr. Roberts coordinates the Department's technology programs, overseeing more than $700 million in FY99 budget, and plays a key role in White House educational technology planning. She began her career as a classroom teacher, and has since directed several major studies for the Congressional Office of Technology Assessment. Dr. Roberts has been cited by Smithsonian Magazine for "championship thinking" and for being "America's advocate for educational technology at the highest levels of government."
