John Bransford

John Bransford serves as co-PI, co-directs the Assessments for Learning theme team, and directs CILT’s dissemination program. Work by Dr. Bransford and his colleagues in the 1970s helped shape the "cognitive revolution" in psychology. In education, he and his colleagues have developed, tested, and implemented in diverse schools innovative computer, videodisc, CD-ROM, and Internet-based products for mathematics, science, and literacy. Many of these products are being used in schools throughout the world. A renowned scholar in the areas of cognition and technology, Dr. Bransford has published over 150 scholarly articles and 6 books, and has served as PI or co-PI on over 30 major research projects.
