Abstract. We propose to convene a meeting with the goal of developing a proposal
for a forum that brings together stakeholders from business, education,
government, research, and the general public who will:
1) identify common criteria for the ethical/constructive/educational
uses of the Internet;
2) develop concrete action plans that promote this common agenda.
During this meeting, participants will share research and models of
exemplary educational Internet applications and identify common
concerns and needs. Efforts will be made to identify and address
the disconnects among users and developers that result in
fragmented efforts rather than sustainable,systemic educational
improvement.
