Goals

Our goals is to develop new approaches to teacher learning, to extend
current professional development practice to reflect current
opportunities provided by technology and current learning theory.
Changes within our educational systems demand new approaches to
teaching and learning.

This is critical to education. Netcourses and instructional technology
have the potential to make major changes to the entire learning environment
We need to create a set of characteristics and approaches that will engage teachers in the same technology rich learning
that will be used in the classroom. Technology provides an opportunity to move
beyond existing models (both face to face and online) and to develop
new models. This white paper will provide direction for policymakers,
researchers, college educators, and professional developers.

Resources

The team or nine people, representing 9 different
organizations, bring with them an extensive set of resources which include
perspectives from all of the major constituencies involved with teacher learning.
They together have strenghts and experience in fields of research, policy, and practice.
